Edinburg, TX (January, 23, 2020) – Golden Grape Entertainment, the entertainment conglomerate behind Bert Ogden Arena, H-E-B Park, the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, and the Rio Grande Valley FC Toros is proud to announce the newest addition to its leadership team, Mr. Ron Patel.  Patel will serve as the President of the organization, overseeing the operations and revenue generation for all four entities under the Golden Grape Entertainment umbrella.

In his most recent role as Chief Revenue Officer for the United Soccer League team, New Mexico United, under his direction, the team led the league in attendance, merchandise sales, and social media engagement.  Patel drew on his five seasons of experience as the former President of Albuquerque Sol (a USL League Two franchise) to help co-found New Mexico United.  He built the Albuquerque Sol from the ground up, and while there, the team consistently ranked in the top 5 in attendance for the league comprised of over 70 teams, and in his final year with the team, led the league in sponsorship sales.  Patel’s years in the sports industry have been marked by positive growth, profitability, and ultimately, success.

Prior to his career in sports, Ron Patel was an accomplished entrepreneur, creating a food delivery company called “Just Dine In” in 2006. The company merged and underwent several acquisitions, expanding into seven markets in the Western U.S. before being bought out by Grub Hub in late 2015, at which time, Ron exited the business. 

With his entrepreneurial savvy and successes in the areas of sales, sponsorship, and game operations, Patel is well-poised to take the helm of Golden Grape Entertainment when he and his family move to the Rio Grande Valley in February. 

Patel will officially start with Golden Grape Entertainment on Monday, February 3^rd.  Media is invited to attend the RGV FC Toros 2020 Season Kick-Off Party & Press Conference at Rancho Guadalupe on Thursday, February 6^th at 7 p.m, where Ron will be available for a meet-and-greet and any interviews.
